Bachelors Code Of Ethics

Bachelors Brand Code of Ethics:

1) Above all things, a gentleman respects women. Nowadays, so many people lose sight of the simpler things that a man should do out of respect for a woman. Hold the door, give up your seat, wait for her to sit first at the dinner table, offer her assistance if she needs any, etc. Furthermore, though women today are just as vulgar as men, a Bachelor acknowledges that there should be a level of consciousness to set a limit that prevents usage of excessive vulgarity around women.

2.) Adjust rule number 1 for children & the elderly. As a matter of fact, a gentleman is a man of respect regardless so rule number 1 should be adjusted accordingly and mandated for all.

3.) Always dress the occasion. This should go without saying but it is a rule that a gentleman should live and die by. Know the difference between formal, semi-formal & casual attire. Do your best to never be under or overdressed. Also, menswear is not based around women's fashion, therefore, there's no reason to wear a shirt that fits like a dress, not to mention sagging too much. A lady should be able to tell a gentleman by his appearance before he opens his mouth due to his presentation.

4.) It's okay to possess and exercise a vice, but refrain from embarrassing yourself in public. Pretty much self-explanatory. A bachelor is a man of class & pride and should keep public intoxication to a minimum (or respectable level) in public. A gentleman is always in full self-control of his mind & body at all times therefore a controlled substance should never live up to it’s name with a Bachelor.

5.) A Bachelor should be well-rounded and cultured. Whether it be women or work, the bar or the barbershop, one should always strive to remain cultured and knowledgeable of whatever's going on in the world. Courting fashionable women may come at the price of knowing the difference between the works of Karl Lagerfeld & Oscar de la Renta and the same can be said for networking (just as it can be said for sports, the economy, politics, etc). A Bachelor should be sociable but he should speak of only what he knows. Seeking knowledge is mandatory & it's as simple as that.

6.) Find a positive center. A Bachelor may or may not be a man of religion but one should possess some level of spirituality. A positive center which he looks to when addressing positive growth as a man and as a human being. Most people find religion to assist in that journey towards spirituality but regardless of religion; finding a positive center is key to growth.

7.) Master the art of simplicity. This is inspired by Law No. 4 of The 48 Laws of Power which I'll quote:
Always Say Less than Necessary~
"When you are trying to impress people with words, the more you say, the more common you appear, and the less in control.  Even if you are saying something banal, it will seem original if you make it vague, open-ended, and sphinxlike.  Powerful people impress and intimidate by saying less.  The more you say, the more likely you are to say something foolish." This rule should be applied to words, actions, posts on the blog, events we do, just about anything... It enhances the mystery and heightens the levels of suspense and anticipation when you emphasize simplicity and leave room for the imagination to do its thing. Just like a good trailer for a movie: it gives you just enough to let you know what's going on but not enough to spoil the movie or dwindle anticipation. Simplicity works & we should adopt it as a rule to live by.”

Work hard but don’t overwork. Do well but don’t overdo. Nothing in excess. Substance over style. Quality over quantity.

8.) Don't let your pride get the best of you. Humble yourself. Admit when you're wrong. Apologize if necessary. Don't carry grudges (that's a female trait). Don't over-talk others you're holding a conversation with. Actions & prestige speak louder volumes than any proclamation that a common man.

9.)  Develop a firm handshake and know when to use it.  A gentleman handles business. A gentleman explores the world and finds life exciting. A gentleman networks and builds relationships. A gentleman lives. A firm handshake will gen be your first impression. Don’t forget it.

10.)  Black shades.
